accidental preppers

Our neighbour is getting
his kitchen redone
asked us if we'd like
the frozen vegies
from his freezer

Of course we said yes
never ones to turn away
free food

He rocked up
with enough food
to feed us for a year
30kg of rice
more pasta packets
jars of sauces
and tinned tomatoes
than I can count
plus a stack of digestive biscuits
boxes of tissues and kitchen towel
and of course enough vegies
to almost overflow our freezer

If the apocalypse comes
we'll be ready
