Being or Having
If we were
just lying
so sweet
side
by side
nothing withholding
and nothing
to hide
watching a movie,
spooning ourselves
so close
and alluring,
cuddling close
in the darkness
just touring,
my arms
deep
around you,
behind you
and supple,
feeling your body
beside me
to couple,
kissing your shoulder
and nibbling ear,
moving so gently
my hand
from the rear
to the front
of your shorts
and back
underneath
and feeling
hard nipples,
your shirt
like a sheath,
in the flickering story
of all
that was there
touching
and soothing
and taking
such care,
just fondling
gently
your curves
and your mind,
drinking our fill
from a bottle
of wine
that little heaven
of playful delight....
it wouldn't
flat matter,
having
or being
a dick
for the night.

Being affectionate and having and getting and maintaining affection is a state of mind of enjoying and exploring and learning with another person.
I'm perplexed when I see couples out to dinner and they are on their phones.
I think solitude has its place. I'm a writer and painter. I paint and write with others sometimes. Yet, the majority of the time I spend writing and painting is intensely unitary.
Being in the same space as another person has its passive times. Yet, likewise, it's a miracle to be in the presence of another person. It's an honor and a humble privilege.
Honoring that takes many forms, and part of that is the pure ecstatic feeling of sharing space. It's not a competition. It's a romance of being.
There simply is not enough hugging, touching, feeling, embracing the moment. And when another person is sharing that moment....ahhh....yeah.
