Stolen by the Sunrise

Stolen by the Sunrise

I woke up this morning knowing that I'd be on my own, left with memories of last night's dream, to write about on my phone

Snippets of romance, glimpses of the time we shared, the magic of dreaming, when for no one else we cared

A time when there was you and I, not another person in the world, we shared each passing moment and watched as dreams unfurled

Skin on skin we laid so close, we moulded into one, sharing every heartbeat and breath, waiting for the Sun

Kisses pass such passions, our desires burn so bright, each kiss ignites a fire, that keeps us warm tonight

Oh why does the Sun come up, I hate the Sun each day, it creeps in on the brink of dawn and steals my girl away

Again I'm left all alone, just a poet with a rhyme and broken heart, who knows he must spend the day, with a dream that's torn apart

But as I watch the Sun go down, I begin to slowly smile, I know it's time to try and sleep and share you for a while
