Image for the poem whispers

whispers

a metaphor on my tongue titillates
and I stumble whispering riddles to your nakedness
inside my soul weep
for what I cannot tell you

I sigh within myself for the breath of you
with heavy exhales of want
I desire you
within the sacredness of being
inside the silence

I keep your secrets safely tucked away
in the tomes of understanding
you are my mentor in love
I say my vows to your darkness
and utter my need to your greed
I am of no importance
I have captivated your eye

in the solemn honesty
you find me glowing
dull to the touch and yet I sparkle
lingering in your sanctuary
I say my prayers
to the man who has captured me
pulling me further into the darkness
that confounds and seduces me

until I am unaware
