You are right to be haunted
by then, by that, by how
it drip feeds into now,
you are not a God,
nor a robot,
nor a mindless beast
cheating life,
take that hurt,
beat bare chests with it,
it is bullshit you should be better by now,
it is bullshit that this week should be better somehow,
take each day with a gentle strength
and go
kind, consistent and connected to the human in the mirror.

What a talent! Lovely how you play with those words and images. I have problems with that last line, but what do I know. 99% excellent.
