The One

The One



I want to climb to the top of that tree
and touch the sky.
I want to pass my hands through the clouds
without ever wondering why.
And I want to watch the birds soar.
Yes.
This is what is meant to be free.
All I want is an escape occasionally.

I want to find you and bring you with me
because you are my love.
I want you to be with me when I have reached
that high up above.
And I want to pass your hands through that cloud,
perhaps then you will understand
what it is I feel for you and why my heart
will never land.

All I want is some time spent alone with you
in a world made for us and us alone.
I want to share with you everything
that I know and own.
There is plenty that I have yet to learn
and I want to learn with you.
Do not forget.
Whomever you are,
that I am waiting for you.

Walk into my life when you see me
destroying all of my fences.
They are going down a little each day,
processes take so long when defenses
have been built to be strong
but you will hold the key to unlock
it all and step right in.

I will take you as you are
and likewise you will take me
and there will be no silly games anymore,
only those that we make for each other out of fun.
And so we will climb that tree
and we will touch the sky with the birds flying all around
and you will pass my hands through a cloud while smiling
and looking into my eyes.

With the sun shining magnificently behind you
I will know this time I have been touched
by the one and I have finally been set free.
