Unenchanted
You’re as warm as that cigar
Jutting from lips like a scar
That slices your face in half
In an arrogant smile or laugh,
Though the mockery isn’t math
Or rocket science in this lab---
Still you think you’re so fab
Till you feel her jab,
Words like swords in hand
Taking an upper stand
Against the warped dune-land’s
He thinks he commands---
But no knight of white
Rides into her sight,
Just another lad of little means
Carrying a weighty spleen
Meant to keep his plate clean---
Under tree boughs
Where murders have crow,
Together they saw
The scene plays out with flaws---
As onyx wings splay
With winds for days,
Better spent in rays
Of sun and sand,
For infinite new plans.
Jutting from lips like a scar
That slices your face in half
In an arrogant smile or laugh,
Though the mockery isn’t math
Or rocket science in this lab---
Still you think you’re so fab
Till you feel her jab,
Words like swords in hand
Taking an upper stand
Against the warped dune-land’s
He thinks he commands---
But no knight of white
Rides into her sight,
Just another lad of little means
Carrying a weighty spleen
Meant to keep his plate clean---
Under tree boughs
Where murders have crow,
Together they saw
The scene plays out with flaws---
As onyx wings splay
With winds for days,
Better spent in rays
Of sun and sand,
For infinite new plans.
