Would you sit with me
On this picnic bench in the shade
Enjoying perfectly temperate breezes
Green trees & blue skies
To the soundtrack of
Cheerful children’s chatter
And their laughter, wrapped in energetic play
or creative pastimes here
In the park?
Would you rest with me?
Spread a blanket on the grass
And visit as friends do
While they play?
Would you fill this empty place beside me?
Would you join me for a couple hours
At the park?
