Diamond Plate Bones
Dark conversations go round and round
Inside my head when no one’s around
Walking around searching for trees
Strong branches with lots of leaves
Beauty of flesh rots eventually
Cast it aside and you will see
Life is hard full of misery
Should I stay or should I go
Slide into the wind that blows
Leave you my Diamond Plate Bones
God’s ganna hate me
Devil's ganna save me
Understands me better after all
He’s embracing my fall
From the branch up high
The noose held tight
Yeah I took the flight
Swaying in a wave goodbye
Got a castle silk lined coffin
Designed special for me
Made from the same weeping tree
That held and cradled me

Behind a smile it's really hard to see what someone else is going through. Knowing the story makes this piece so much better, tight

Dear A,
Very delicate situation. I can’t help but wonder the amount of emotional pain someone is in to make this type of final decision. This poem gathers up that energy of feeling like things have to change and how they aren’t going to change for the better. I like how you’ve put thoughts on paper for such a difficult subject. H🌷

I had a job once where I used to consider offing myself.
Then they laid me off and it was a defining moment. A year later they asked me to come and with great pleasure I tod them to go FUCK THEMSELVES. Fast forward a number of years they are now a customer of mine.
I chose life but feel for those who surrender...

Wasn't sure how many comments I was going to get with this so thanks for giving me some love on this. Not going to say I've never thought about it when I was younger. As an adult - never. Would never choose to leave my babies like that. Not in a million. So glad you didn't either. You are a gift to the world!! Never forget that. No one expects perfection - we are human.

Just trying darker subject matter that I had in some of my older
writing spirals. This was something I started and never finished.
I have a few like that - unfinished and dark.

Wow. Especially wow to the casket being from the tree. They died and then were together forever.

That year was so insane. Within that same year an elementary school teacher also committed suicide. She was so young - in her early twenties. Had her whole life ahead of her. Her roommate found her the next morning. Lots of death going on at time. They even had a school assembly to discuss it. You just never know.
So happy I got two wows and two verys out of ya!!
