The Phantom Discourse
I was with various people I knew,
Now shades in a hereafter soiree dream,
Who had bid actuality adieu
To make merry by some Morphean stream
Just outside a sliding patio door
Whose glass blocked a hint of yuletide chill
Those elder ghosts had no wish to explore
As by conversation they got their thrill.
They mingled under open beam decor
And sought not the galactic expanse
Since the colloquy of heaven's rapport
Was the primary human happenstance
Granting heaven, or hell, within a breath...
And yada-yada beyond sudden death.
