This is beautiful. I can only imagine how awful it might be to have someone go without a last “I love you”. I found this poem breath-y in a lovely way as to emote the sadness and grief  one would feel at such loss. I never stop admiring your talent for capturing the true essence on an emotion or situation. H🌷

This piece is dear to my heart and comes from a place of abundant truth, cherished love and a deep understanding of how it tears away parts of your own soul to lose someone you deeply care about to suicide, being left behind not able to say what what was needed to be said .... being ROBBED of that opportunity. It is a brutal scar that emits pain  anger and guilt in neverending streams. You just learn how to live with the flow.  

I also wanted to put a piece out there that could really highlight well to anyone feeling like self harm is an answer, a honest view of what the carnage looks like they're completing leaving behind...as well as the deep love that's here in droves for them if only they could cleary see enough to stay.
My hope, was to leave that type indelible mark.  

I deeply enjoy the depths in which you see me, dear lady. I always marvel at your observational talents and feel lucky to have them highlight me from time to time. Your light and kindness make a difference. Deepest thanks for the heartfelt comments, it means the world to me to read them.

This poem read like a very personal message, or at least felt to me that it had a deeper hidden message in it.
It just struck me that it read more like a letter and that there might be thorns hidden under those roses.
Internal wounds can carve deeply. You delivered this so well for it to lift just a tip of the veil!!!

Much more lies underneath the first glance of his poem... it's very true. For me, it's a love letter never sent. A beacon for those who need to be reminded of their own value and how much love and opportunity still awaits and exists for them, despite any current state of their painful 'now'. It's also a reminder to myself that I can't harbor anger and guilt in the amount that I sometimes do; to give myself a break, even if I don't always believe that I might be deserving.  
 
It's uncanny that you picked up upon some of my underlying inspirations, yet I'm not surprised. We're definitely connected to one another on some level, we witchy ladies!! .. lol... *wink!

Hey again dear Velvete one, yes! I have often picked up on your spiritual side. We are all connected to something beyond ourselves though each his or her own. I have observed a Magdalene quality within your writings. I mean this more in a mystic way, the teachings of the rose. They also call this the rose lineage As you know I am very much on the path of the sacred feminine.
Yes it struck me as a letter to the very essence of the self or the soul.

I'm so grateful to you for leaving me this follow up message. I read it yesterday and just needed to let it sit so I could think on it before responding. You using your innate spirituality to locate or feel me and my essence and a level within my writing that is reactive and potentially tapping into something else, mystic.. well that's like seeing the sunrise, to me. I'm usually so hard on myself that yes oftentimes difficult to find a positive. It means a lot to have you point out your thoughts and what it is you're feeling, especially within my moments of emotional upheaval. I'm left renewed and just made to feel lighter, seen and supported. I think there's a lovely give-and-take there too because there's obviously reasons why I'm so drawing to the experience of your poems and spoken word recordings, I am proud of that line kinship and felt natural awareness. It's validation and a motivation to continue on a path that expresses growth and knowledge. My appreciation runs deep and sincere.

Yes you are very much right, my innate voices speak to me through my writing and beyond. It seems to be the only way for me to write as over the years these inner voices have become much stronger. As the years go by more people I know die or get sick. My mother in law is very sick at the moment and she is one of those people I couldn't imagine life without. Seems the family revolves around her. This reminds me of that and how special those people are.

My heart goes out to you, your wife and all your family. Your mother in law sounds like a wonderful beacon and truly good lady. I'm sorry for her and you all that she's battling sickness. It's difficult at best and a horror at worst. She's lucky to have you both with her and you're so correct that it becomes about the cherished memories left and the ability to let those you love most know exactly how and why, while they're here. Never waste a moment never feel like you can wait until tomorrow. Be present and proactive (even if it feels silly) and let anyone who you care about know you do and why... never leaving doubts.

Your range is impressive. Can be uplifting and bright like the most luminous star and yet can go deep into pitch darkness (like a black hole).  
 
I hope the "Self-harm" tag was not identifying you - as that would not be an acceptable loss. Your poem conveys the tear in one's soul when a loved one is lost, and the finality of not being able to communicate your true feeling for them.  However, your poem ends with "..If you were dead".  As the reader, I recognize you still have a chance to share your feelings...but alas will you?  Your words convey "in the moment" we hesitate to share our feelings, and later regret it because the opportunity is gone.  
 
A haunting "great work".

You're so incredibly in tune... It's essentially a love letter of sorts, letting the intended person know in the here and now, just how huge of an affect and enormous hole they'd leave.... if they were to hurt themselves and die. No, the self harm tag wasn't about me.... and yes, the intended poem recipient is fine.  

I know people are complex and that mental health issues are difficult to navigate but I also feel like sometimes people get so lost within their own pain that they can very quickly lose sight of how loved and cherished they are, and essentially do something rash they can never undo.  

I've lost someone to suicide, it's utterly horrific to be left behind with such guilt and pain, the kind that'll never subside, you just get used to and learn how to go on living with it. It forces a new reality.  

I was speaking many truths, from multiple life occurrences, when writing this one.  

I'm so grateful you're here... I missed you and thank you for all your visits and the love you've shown and gloriously continue to
