Here Comes the Storm
I woke up to:
I really miss you!
Can’t stop wondering about you
And worrying (sigh)
It’s looking like a fighting morning:
Me fighting my self-deprecating instincts
Me second-guessing details of my life
Even from years ago
It’s that kind of day
where every mistake, random faux pas
Rattle, chain-linked, through my mind
Releasing an anchor to bind
me to a stormy island coast
Alone
So I worry and dredge up thoughts
Counting all the ways I hurt you
Counting all the ways I drove you
farther
away
I miss you
I miss feeling we’re okay
It’s looking like a stormy kind of day
Without a ray
Of hopeful sunlight from
The ONE I love
I really miss you!
Can’t stop wondering about you
And worrying (sigh)
It’s looking like a fighting morning:
Me fighting my self-deprecating instincts
Me second-guessing details of my life
Even from years ago
It’s that kind of day
where every mistake, random faux pas
Rattle, chain-linked, through my mind
Releasing an anchor to bind
me to a stormy island coast
Alone
So I worry and dredge up thoughts
Counting all the ways I hurt you
Counting all the ways I drove you
farther
away
I miss you
I miss feeling we’re okay
It’s looking like a stormy kind of day
Without a ray
Of hopeful sunlight from
The ONE I love
