Daylight Savings
There was no more blue in the setting moon;
Rotation declared that its work was done
And old November showed up way too soon
In the blazing form of a rising sun
So daybreak could chase the demons away
From too many tricks and sugary treats
To concentrate on a future display
Of sliced and steaming avian meats
In the darkest standard Pacific time
And the densest banks of in rolling fog
Set to a clock's grandfatherly chime
And welcome heat from a yuletide log...
Declaring goblins passe for the year
And afternoon daylight too cavalier!
Rotation declared that its work was done
And old November showed up way too soon
In the blazing form of a rising sun
So daybreak could chase the demons away
From too many tricks and sugary treats
To concentrate on a future display
Of sliced and steaming avian meats
In the darkest standard Pacific time
And the densest banks of in rolling fog
Set to a clock's grandfatherly chime
And welcome heat from a yuletide log...
Declaring goblins passe for the year
And afternoon daylight too cavalier!
