Wayward wanderings of wishes and brimstone

She was young
wind in her hair wonderment
dripping attitude and gumption
out of every pore
One well timed smirk
partnered with a perfect cat-eye come hither
and God herself would bend the knee
Figments of imagination
appeared and disappeared
perhaps went where wishes
go when cashed
Flexing hard life
heartsounds beating in every color
she double-dared fear itself
Left scorch marks
for footings
ashes and embers
encircle her head
charred remains,
a smoky wake
proof of life.
