Brings Me Down
I woke up with such a positive attitude
the sky was sunny
beautiful scenery all around
everything seemed perfect
till you graced me with your disdain
all your hostility brings me down
heard from a friend
you were talking crap
guess you don’t have the guts
to say anything to my face
so what was it you were saying?
couldn’t be about my work ethic
it’s just too solid
the love of my life, maybe?
nah, she’s far more beautiful
then any girl you’ll ever get
so it had to be about my skin
you don’t think it’s superior
like yours?
because from where I’m at
you’re a fucking hobbit
with what looks like piss allover your mug
so build a wall around that
no one want’s to see that shit
I’m a loving soul
really I am
but an eye for an eye
is what I live by
and some people just irk me
talking out their assholes
only just ignorance without facts
forget it
it’s just pointless
even if it does hurt at times
I won’t let you know it
that hateful nonsense is for the birds
can’t argue with stupidity anyway
so I won’t try
I get more satisfaction
smiling at your piss face
watching jealousy eat away
while I’m holding all the gifts
that I continuously fight for

Keeping one's principles intact and not allowing another to bring you down!! Remember that you're on the side of goodness and those that cause you ill, in thought or deed will always be less than. Some people aren't happy or satisfied unless they're making someone else feel 'small' because when it's all said and done... that's their own reality!!! They deflect.... it's all they know!!

Thanks, friend 😁 I wrote this after someone was saying things about me, with a few racist comments. I think the best way to battle that is showing you're not afraid. And as you said some people are only happy when they bring you down.
