When did you stop seeing me as a person
a living, breathing human being with feelings and a heart
A woman who has fought her way, tooth and nail, to overcome her traumatic past
because the way you treat me now compared to then
well the differences are worlds apart
when did you stop kissing my forehead
when did the desire to gently protect my heart fade away
When did this palpable change in tolerance for my presence start to manifest
I panic and reach for you, but the harder I try the more you pull away
My skin is burning with the knowing of where this is heading
I cant swallow my spit because my bleeding heart is in my throat
how do you make it look so effortless, like we meant nothing at all to you
walking away so cocksure .. head held high unjustifiably, as if your a man who is undeniably devote

i can still feel your fingers running through my hair
i can hear your laughter and feel my smile take over my face
only to jolt awake back to reality,
to this intolerable existence where you no longer care
