I did a whole series of these PD
In digital art you can do layering and linear designs in a sensual way.  I'm drawn to that kind of art and thought process and putting them together...

Dear H,

In reality I'm a street dog.  I wrote my first poem in Carl Shurz Park nine years ago while walking my dog Ginger.  I had never written a poem before and the words just came to me.   That's how the process works for me.   I'll get a feeling or a phrase appear before me and the poem practically writes itself.  That's what happened here.  
I always said I was a poet and a thief of hearts.   Love is an undeniable quotient.  I'll never figure it out so I keep writing these poems hoping for a breakthrough...

Is Love ever truly in balance?
Well if it were, it would probably look like that painting.
So who won? huh? I bet she did... You know I would win.

But seriously,
This is so beautiful...
When you are very close to someone and you fight about something significant
it really can leave scars, and in the aftermath you see them. The damage.
And when you hurt someone you love like that, it's like cutting yourself deeper.
You just have to hold them and whisper that everything is okay.
That you will always be there for them.
I suppose you can read the "Till I'm not" in many ways. It could be
that I am going be there for you till death, or possibly if there comes
a point where you are no longer together that you will always love them.
Anyway, really lovely and heartfelt PS. You big softie.

You're right, love is not always placid waters.  It demands respect and grit to keep it rolling and tended like a fine garden. Sometimes things go astray  but in the aftermath it's no so much what was said as it is what you did to get it back on track.  You're kinda snarky so to receive a well thought out comment like this means a lot to me.

As to who won ?  Men don't win those fights.  The best we can hope for is hear something she said to help you understand more of who she is and how to love her better ....

Love in balance - sometimes it can get knocked off course when fighting - but
if you love someone you do find that common ground. Not always easy to do in the
heat of the moment. Sometimes we need to cool off a bit and reanalyze.
Love the curling into the shoulder - and the whispers too.
Loving scene you conjured with this piece.
