I think you win an award for the most soothing and beautifully relaxing poem I've read in quite some time, John.  
 
Your lines exude an ethereal essence....matching exactly like I'd imagine one would feel watching the sky peppered with the release of all those gorgeous rice paper lanterns... glowing and flickering through the moonlit night sky.... An invocation of such visceral warmth that was just so lovely to read.

Love to you always my darling friend. Indeed just imagining those lanterns floating into the air is a peaceful feeling. Very glad my poem evoked some of that feeling. I'd love to one day be in Japan to see them flying like tinker bells into the sky. I have always been enchanted by Japan. Would also love to see and smell the cherry blossoms. Their ephemeral beauty is much like life short and beautiful. I love your words on this poem, my friend. They also enchant me. Lots going on here. The whole apartment complex where I live is being closed with all the residents being relocated. Thank you for your empathy, my darling friend. I pray that your life is well too.

Ohh my!...
What an upheaval, indeed. I send wishes of a smooth and easy moving transition. I know that process can be tedious, as sometimes unexpected (Damn, even expected for that matter) change can be.

I too, absolutely love cherry blossoms. They're the screensaver on my laptop! I've been lucky enough to go to Washington DC to see them in peak bloom twice but I bet the Japanese cherry blossoms put those to shame!!! It must look and smell like a dream..... ahhh... ;)

It's always a pleasure to catch up and pick your brain. Be sure to take care of yourself in the days ahead ... I'll be keeping an eye out for more of your poems, dear friend 🙏

I feel like I am there John, you paint the most vivid scenery here,I mean it’s like
literally being there. I copy Bluevelvetes sentiments, this piece is award worthy in that it’s tranquil and serene with a layer of
culture all rolled into one beautiful poem.
I have missed you brother dearly, unfortunately being bipolar at times life takes hold of me overwhelmingly sometimes for a long time .

Feeling the ripples of flesh as you go.
And I am the geisha...
That you desire so much.
Losing my identity, becoming anything.

You are the Satori
Whose naked dream comes true
in a flash of bare enlightenment
that surpasses Zen koans
in your sapphire mystery
that envelopes me in total immersion
when duality melts into your arms
and places where the roshi forbids
