Paradise on a Budget

last night I had a dream
you walked down the stairs,
of our very expensive home
I took your hand, then we danced
and the whole room clapped for us

when I awoke, I turned on the radio
got you out of bed, took your hand
then we moved our hips
your hair all a mess,
me smelling of morning breath

this had me thinking
yeah, I truly am lucky
we might not have wealth
but we sure are wealthy

against all odds we made it
they said we were too young for marriage
here we are 15 years later
might of had our share of hard times
but I say it made us stronger, wiser
and so much more willing to fight

it’s always like the first time
touching on your curves
feels as passionate as the first time
no one else could give me this,
feeling of overwhelming love
keeping us at ease
and to me
that’s priceless

I don’t ever want to quit
we're battling towards the end
with your help, my love
we can make it to heaven
till then I will make you feel like a princess
sometimes funds are low
but it ain’t so bad,
with the company of an angel
