The Bill of Fights

Comprehension has a ponderous rate,
And thus, the scholar learns humility
Is a gentleman's ultimate trait
As a cornerstone of utility;
Well known in every old Yankee shipyard
When a fresh republic was being built
With steady invention and avant-garde
As confederates watched tobacco wilt.
If you say you want America great
We must cultivate mass patience and skill,
Or some other intellectual state
Other than a caveman's urge to kill,
As seen in boys who are way too proud
Of carnage the second amendment allowed.
