Image for the poem nothing else matters

nothing else matters

I am nothingness, nothing but stardust falling from the sky
yet there is a force that holds me together
carbon matter yet to be dated
a DNA code with an expiration
my exit date previously set

unexpectedly I started to like the place
the universe is full of surprises
I didn't expect to see you here
my soul exhale and I felt you
in the nothingness I felt something that moved me
and then I shine

all glittery, fools gold, perhaps
or something more precious
something that can't be measured or dated

I am and was and will be again
the treasure you seek
