My smoke’s fuming
Insides are growling
Feeling’s here to stay
Won’t go away
Relishing the decay
Calling my Priestess
To my Demoness
Grab a white feather from
Your headdress
Dip into holy water
Anoint my flesh
An exorcism
Let’s write it out
Worlds meant to shout
Pull out my devils
Place them somewhere else
Drag them straight to hell
Lock them in a rusted page
Calling my Priestess
To my Demoness
Grab a slice of bread from
Your Eucharist
Place on my slivered tongue
That speaks to everyone
She’s far from done
Hoping that she’s won
But I’m far from done
Finding my strength
Searching underneath

There a song there, we with your comments to a certain degree. Yes we have the capability to write out our demons or control them. But think of all of the non writers that we as writers may help. Though different individuals our problems may mirror each other. Tight

100 percent. Everyone struggles with things. It's the human experience. Some things are more tragic than others - so it could be harder to write. I think everyone has the potential to journal. Just takes patience and drive.
It helps to write and take a step back and read later.

Worlds meant to shout” there’s the crux of the write for me. That’s my penance. 10 Our Fathers and 5 Hail Marys can’t touch a good this! I never thought of poetry as the confessional yet it really is. Confessing all the inner crap that sits there and festers. Fantastic perspective. I really appreciate this point of view. H🌷

Yes, at times (for me) it helps. Just writing out all the demons
trying to poison you. And in that moment I do feel we are
a bit of a priest or priestess performing an exorcism. LOL
I had been playing with this in my head for like the past week.

It's a great read. I like the theme in this 'life as a wrter' epic. The rolling 'Calling my Priestess To my Demoness' chorus works well too.

Poetry has such a capacity to be so many things...
I can remember the first movements
of the pen, and then sort of... Writing myself into existence.
The idea of Poetry as priestess/confessor
to the demoness of the poetess... Is quite brilliant A.

So glad you got what I was trying to come across with.
It does have the capacity to empower the psyche. Help in different
areas and times in our life. I never really appreciated it til I was older though.
Always loved to read but write - yikes. Kinda intimidating for me in the beginning. Now - not so much. Just found my flow
and took off into uncharted territory. Learned a lot being here
reading and studying in a way from people like you and all the great writers here at DUP.
