War Machines

Hate was born in their heads, but their heads were empty tins
And their ire was borne, but borne, from somebody else's sins
Those godless creatures, would not pray, for they had no soul
And where a heart, could've been, 'twas merely an empty hole

They laid waste, with mechanised monsters and war machines
If humanity had a truer purpose, they destroyed those dreams
With precision destructive capability, they'd relentlessly attack
The world was held to, an unpaid, ransom and put on the rack

Programmed to be remorseless killers, who would never cede
Whether near or afar, there would be no mercy, just their need
But they razed it all (and themselves), when they lost, the plot
Leaving only their apocalyptic legacy, for drone, droid and bot
