Humble Man

The things I've seen
And the places I've been
Are not for the faint of heart,
Could lead any sane man
To a life of sin;

Its a weight I carry
Each day and Every night,
It may not look like it
But deep down its a constant fight;

A battle between good and evil
A constant War of right and wrong,
It would be so easy to just give up
Yet i strive to survive
Im just trying to remain strong;

As the years pass
My mind and soul begin to age,
The book that represents this life
Gain complexity with the turn
 of every page;

It's what's on those pages
That pushes the very identity of my being,
Chapter after chapter word after word the events of my novel are what gives my life meaning;

The path has been broken
beaten battered and worn,
I wouldnt have had it any other way
To that ive forever sworn;

Its not anything fancy
So you'll never hear me boast,
I have my health, love family and god
Thats a hell of a lot more than most;

As I revisit the past and
relish all I've accomplished
Compared to where I began,
At least its transformed me
Into a very humble man:
