Rock & Roll Dreams/Leaving Sage Planet

...with the three lock box, and a ruby seashell deep in his pocket, Ben once again began jumping from planet to planet, and from star to star.

Ben was speeding up and started spinning; traveling through space, there were falling stars that passed Ben's eyes; blazing lanterns in particle ribbons. It was hard for Ben to focus at times, but as he started to concentrate, he could recognized that he was moving at the constant of Einstein.

There was buzzing.

186,000 miles per second through
the vacuum of space-time,

It was the speed of light
becoming rhythm, chords, and music
as the stars were falling slantwise alive,

Ben could see music floating,
like back home, as it did in Kansas City,
as the tones would slide through the streets
like scribbles drawn on the wind
coming from one of those
old hands down in the jazz district.

And in all the cords and colors,
Ben was immersed inside
flowing in a river somewhere
moving out towards something indefinite,

Ben began wondering if
the people of earth could hear him,
for instance, if he had brought his guitar
and start playing Billy Thorpe,
or maybe Eruption,
or something by any rock legend.

And then all at once,
the ruby seashell from his pocket erupted;

Ben was bitten by a burst of sound
striking like thunder through
his hands and spinning pure energy,
in a cacophony cathedral;

Ben looked down to find his ruby colored
guitar in front of him,
and it was playing symphony
like a magnet through the tips
of his fingers, like lightening.

Suddenly, he had his complete senses awakened in him
like a great atmospheric phenomenon.

He could see, hear,
and feel his music
like each crepuscular ray
of the sunshine back home;
He could almost taste that
he was back in Kansas City –
a legend playing his music.

Ben never wanted the dream to end,
way up in the universe,
as he preformed for every world there is,
there ever was, or there ever could be.

But in a minute, Ben started spinning
out of control again..
He was about to land on another planet,

Ben landed, laying there,
staring straight up in the silence.
The landing was on plush grass it felt like to Ben, and it was glowing emerald all around him.  Suddenly,  ben felt fear.  He listened, and remained silent
for the longest time, staring straight up,
incapable of offering himself any reply.
