Don Henley's spark

Yes it did seem like a lonely place
Protected by amazing grace
No more words did we want to waste
Silence took up all the empty space

Tried to follow but could not go
Even though a companion I was seeking so
As if sent like mana from above
Guarded by someone's unseen love

Looked to see and yet still was blind
Couldn't get past the shackles of my mind
So unnerving yet I would not flee
Drained of sensation washed to the sea

What I asked for wasn't a need
More like a bandage for an unnecessary deed
Compounded in a bizarre thundering haze
Lost I was in a continuous maze

Then I found that the walls made
Started to crumble and then to fade
For the obstacles were my own creation
And my own will could avoid the plantation

Felt as if it was some beast I slew
Traps and roadblocks I once knew
Not a problem with the brand new day
Found you waiting at the sad cafe
