After all that medically induced silence it probably would be a joy to hear oneself laugh. The nearest I came to your situation was in the year I was doggedly recovering from a traumatic swimming accident. I think the sign I was past the worst was at a community quiz when some of the many wrong answers read out were so hilarious I was for first time in life actually CRYING with laughter!
