Lilith's Midnight Summoning

- Lilith's Midnight Summoning -

In texts of lost ancient lore, filled with runes of sorcery...
My eyes beheld the secrets between each and every page.
In the air, within the darkness wherein I worked my will,
My fingers traced the runes as the candlelight flickered.
The pentacle of summoning lay traced with fine artistry,
Before my feet, not able to be seen by the eyes of a sage.
Drawn with pure energy it was as the air grew a bit chill,
Whilst my mind worked arcane arts to call my kindred.
In the name of Lilith, and of beings of primordial lore...
My heart called across the stars; I was home once more!
The dark beyond the candlelight seemed of living form,
Whilst the sacred water in the copper bowl did ripple...
As other shadows seemed but dancing to distant music.
Her voice echoed from the dark, in comforting refrain!
Outside the world was still, there was no rain or storm,
Whilst my soul felt unchained, not able to be crippled,
By the limitations that come from doubts, most tragic!
I unleashed my spirit, letting go of my anger and pain.
Whilst the candles went out as opened was the door...
Between two worlds, showing me all that lay in store.

Time and space, bridged in an instant of arcane fires...
Green energy within the ether, the air that lies beyond.
My third eye, portal of my spirit, seeing without sight!
In the utter blackness wherein I beheld the messengers,
Brought through the door, called by words and desires.
I needed not a talisman, nor any carved wooden wand,
To enact upon that dark evening, this one arcane rite!
My spirit rose up, riding all the energy as a passenger.
It was not able to be contained, within only my skin...
Instead it was all about me as the working did begin!
She came from out of the midst of the spirits around,
The sacred water had called unto her eternal essence.
From a world far away, as beneath distant alien stars,
Lilith's form stepped into the pentacle most graceful!
We communed upon that hour until dawn did sound,
And before that light the darkness has not a defense.
The summoning was thus undone with little remorse,
Though for that brief encounter I yet felt so grateful!
For two already thus fallen, such sorcery is not a sin,
We creatures of the night, as cannot be condemned!

Love calls to deep magic, as passion hones the craft,
Beyond all of science's logic, we fallen gods laugh!
