Saying What You Want

Saying What You Want

Saying
What
You want
Is not
An act
Of selfishness

But
Rather
An act
Of courage,
Self-care,
And self-value.

There's a difference
Between
Rampant
Retail therapy
And the boundary
Of meeting
Human needs.

Of course,
You need respect
And being
Valued
As a human being.

Of course,
Safety
And emotional
Honesty
Are a priority.

Negotiate
What
You need
And want,

And compromise
Only as far
As your dignity
And integrity
Will allow you
To bend
And not break.

That
Being said,
Growth
Requires change,
And change
Requires flexibility.

So,
In stripping down
Your defenses
In order
To sense
The cathartic
Moment
Of your delivery,

There must be
Respect
In order
To submit
To the rigors
Of your
Being taken

To the inner
And outer
Reaches
Of your
Comfort zone.

This is why
Being merely nude
Is not enough
When you must
Nakedly face
Those safety
Measures

You have erected
To guard against
The challenges
To free the soul
From all
Its chains
Of self-consciousness.

Letting go
Is a revolutionary act
Of breaking
With past
Imprisonments.

Life breaks us,
And in so doing
It prison escapes
The shakles
Of our fears
Of not being
Enough,

Of not feeling
That we are worthy
Or loveable
Enough
For anyone
To go through
The trouble
To fetch us
From our
Darkest sleep.

Will you trust?
Will you let go?
Will you allow
Yourself
To feel
That sense
Of awareness

Where you
Are the center
Of the universe,
Not for what
You have to give
But solely
For who you are?

Do nothing
But engage.
Be nothing
But yourself.

Allow yourself
To be loved
For the sake
Of the pleasure
Of being
Enjoyed.

You are
A tea ceremony
Ready
To be poured
Into the cup
Of fulfillment.

Welcome
To the simplicity
Of satisfaction
Of merely being
Yourself
As you are.

Close your eyes
And be kissed
With the unconditioned.
