of friendship & acquaintance (a journal entry of visions)
1.
this first letter
posted to the queen
needing to protect her tea
seen floating through
Cape Town, where
Atlantic oceans kissed
the Indian sea
2.
relationships built in pain,
tears, broken hearts,
grease under finger nails,
walks through mountains
transporting water in pails.
3.
life is not easy
there's enough street in your blood
to know sacrifice
enough tear in your make up
to preach suffering
4.
placing christmas cards
on a mantelpiece
for candle fire
to burn
5.
wounds of caring
the blood of siblings
cutting deep in palms
and bled in embrace

I do enjoy these little snippet poems. They’re like parts of a jigsaw the reader tries to fit together. The fact that the title suggests visions is also interesting. The whole piece doesn’t feel concrete, and the abstract nature of this is its power.
The use of oceans as locations in the first is a beautiful visual aid of connection.
The second, the pales of water feels significant. It made me think of the Jack and Jill rhyme, how a relationship hinged on it. I feel like it hinges here too.
Three I think is my favourite. It speaks of really knowing a person. How the living is beautiful.
Four is the most descriptive. That image of special memories kind of combusting in the flame is powerful. It’s very visceral in its simplicity.
Five is interesting. The use of sibling(s) as plural adds another to dimension to this. It’s no longer singular. And having this at the end kind of opens it up to future possibilities.
I enjoyed this. It’s a bit different to your usual. Thank you for sharing.

Hello
Thank you for being here, and lending your eyes to this...
I've been experimenting with abstract and I'm so glad that it comes across.
You have mentioned every part of the imagery in this piece that actually matters, I'm grateful for that. If ever there was a moment feeling like the planned had come of the write it would be this.
Thank you for reading it, and sharing your thoughts!

now this.. feels a bit different for you. I get these visions as well, like metaphors that sum up a relationship or a "vision" of how things are, or how you see someone, sitting in a backed-up perspective. I'll have to agree with Missy that the third set is my favourite, even though each set holds its own, almost like they represent, each, a different person or phase.. very open, yet close.
not sure in the second if you meant "pales", like pale colours, kind of like a play on words, or if you meant "pails", the buckets playing as themselves
this is just a stunning little collage that ties together with a particular frequency of fondness.

Good day to you wonderful person!
firstly, thank you for noticing the bloody mobile phone spell check error, I appreciate that you picked that up, but more than that said something. I did indeed write pails on the paper... cyber connections hate me some days.
I have been experimenting of late with various forms and styles, much more than I usually do, so I'm fairly grateful you noticed that it is different for me, I am on a mission of not repeating my same style too much. (Just a personal push!)
I am glad that the various phases and people reflect. thank you for noticing that!
I appreciate your eyes on this and I appreciate your thoughts even more!
Thank YOU!
and - blue skies - straight back at ja!
