The Conversation

A stunning redhead in a floral dress
agreed to dance with me
As we danced we began to talk
on subjects wide and free
We agreed to meet again
and learned to live our life
Our conversation has continued
My soulmate and my wife
 
Alas the conversation has ceased  
after 63 long years
We talked about so many things
our hopes and out fears
News, philosophy politics  and banter;
no subject was taboo,
My heart is full of memories
too precious to eschew
