Daybreak!

Shine bright, moonlight, before you set
And briefly mingle with dawn's early light
That final glow of empyrean night
The likes of which I can't soon forget...
Even as I welcome the rising sun
Trailing the plunge of your westward drift
By antemeridian...lullaby lift...
Declaring another Earth umbrage done!
And with Morpheus too, you well conspire,
With the last of your sinking beams,
To place my soul in odd sundry dreams
Safe from Apollo's diurnal fire...
So the midnight mind may soon recover
The wits to watch you once again hover!
