Monophobia

Teddy bears and toys
Paper sack to dull the noise
Feeling like a mannequin
Posed still in the void

In the wilds of scampish ghosts
In the gaze of deepest cold
I'm all alone, all alone

Tick-tick rings the clock
Where am I now-I've forgot
Hissing like a TV screen
Frantic and distraught

In pale streets of lullabies
In tall buildings plagiarized
I'm all alone, all alone

In labyrinths strangely schemed
In the space of fractured dreams
I found you.

Rocking chairs and suits
This tie hugs me like a noose
Waiting I am alone, alone
Statuesque in roots

In the mud, a thousand eyes
In betrayal, my demise
I'm all alone, all alone.

Author's Note
I am a big fan of the Little Nightmares franchise. So minor spoiler warning.

This poem in particular is about the sequels character 'Mono' and what he experiences through the events of the game. And what he will continue to experience. It's about the loss of childlike innocence and how the darker aspects of our lives will never leave us.
