Down to the Wire
This Battle of wills
We've been living in
For Years
Is Finally coming down
To the wire
That stands
On the opposite bank
Of the slow sluggish
River
OF our own blood
Staring down
At the decaying face's
Collateral damage
IN the flesh
And the smell
We will never forget
As we wade across the river
To get to wire
First
THIS battle of wills
We've living in today
Is finally coming to a head
Like the 1920s
When the labor laws
Were first born
IN blood and pain
To put food on table
THE people stood as one
ON the street
Men and women
Down to the wire
Facing their own government
Facing the National Guard
And all those
WHO donate
To keep the system
That we now live in
THE same
We've been living in
For Years
Is Finally coming down
To the wire
That stands
On the opposite bank
Of the slow sluggish
River
OF our own blood
Staring down
At the decaying face's
Collateral damage
IN the flesh
And the smell
We will never forget
As we wade across the river
To get to wire
First
THIS battle of wills
We've living in today
Is finally coming to a head
Like the 1920s
When the labor laws
Were first born
IN blood and pain
To put food on table
THE people stood as one
ON the street
Men and women
Down to the wire
Facing their own government
Facing the National Guard
And all those
WHO donate
To keep the system
That we now live in
THE same
