I Breath

I am far between words and poems
Solitude and faceless crowds
I can neither touch the stars
More than stare into the sun
All in all, sums come undone
The believed lies a bridge to far

What is less or more than this
What is life and what is death
What is the point of everything
What does having everything bring

Questions and answers colored grey
Like the dusk between night and day
Lines in the sand simply dust in the wind
Every permanence has its end

What are symbols, ciphers, and sigils
The appointed time, place, and vigil
What differs writing and riting
From darkness the inward lighting

Parse, dissect, and take apart
Compound, and multiply a new start
Fragile, dying, soft sighing breeze
Born of gales that lashed the sea

I breath

That is all today

No monument or dirge
No ambition or lying idle

I stand unclothed between two worlds
Whatever consequences mock
Or lost loves mourn

Some days, is work enough to breath
