I remember in more recent years
you once mused that
we probably wouldn’t be friends
if we could meet again
because, you said, you’ve changed so much…
It seems to me,
as you have yet to test your theory,
that you either don’t believe it’s true,
or you are afraid I might indeed
not be friends with you…
As for me, I don’t believe it
and would happily put it to the test…
After all, I too have changed
Is there a chance our growth has been
In coinciding lines?
If you’re right,
That our angles now diverge,
It certainly would simplify our lives…
Would you not agree?
