Impatient Dreams

The robins are singing the rain song and I see threatening clouds coming in from the west.
Hopefully they bring rain drops to garden earth.

It’s early evening as the rain begins to fall.
I hear traffic’s wet commute driving down the road.

The temperature drops as sheets of rain whip across the open field.
It doesn’t last long and the clouds begin to lighten to make way for the setting sun.

I draw an invisible line across my psyche daring my intuition.
My inhibitions silently drain from my subconscious.

I take care not to fall through the sands of time.
Who knows where in my mind the time goes, hopefully lost in time’s worth.

Only it will be the wiser, though it is trapped inside an hour glass.
It has no memory, just sad thoughts of hallowed beginnings, imaginings.

Whispering winds give rise to the wise old owl on it’s feathered wings.
It searches food for thought in the direction of night times’ past.

The gnome yearns to escape the darkness.
‘Have you come to release us?’ he asks of the truth.

The air inside is stale and reeks of tired moments.
‘No, you will have to wait on time,’ answers the truth.

Don’t worry about remembering sleep ‘til then.
Don’t let the darkness bother you.

Call upon the silence of your quiet memories and dream on.
No one will disturb you when the rains fall.
