Maze

Sleepless, congested
Thoughts blur
But in the haze I see a maze
Wandering paths that tease
But never lead
To you.
Are the imaginations
Of your love
Merely mental conjurings
To feed my ravenous lust
For your heart?
Even when slipping along the edge
Of sleep
Heart and mind plunge deep
Into the aching longing
For you.
Do you despise or fear me?
Feel indifferent to
or are disgusted by
Thoughts of my desire?
If you love, care for or desire me at all
Why this hiding?
I think you do still care
But I frighten you
In my intensity.

I think that is the real truth
That frightens you.
