As Life Goes On

The passing of time will have sorrow
sunshine comes after rain
dark clouds won’t last forever
don’t let your dreams go down the drain

Our hearts are heavy after the passing
of a parent we held so dear
feel as if we have been abandoned
shed a plethora of tears

While never being the same
the natural way is for us to live on
youth gains wisdom in tragedy
mom not here physically but never gone

Her love is eternal and we honor that link
when we share ourselves with others
uniting humanity with positivity
caring for sisters and our brothers

Look to the chords that bind us together
not dwell on the failings of the human race
take joy in the simple pleasures
that smile on a little child’s face….
