The First Time

I attribute this to music because it played such a big part in my life, and those certain songs will certainly resurface great memories.

What I LOVE about this is that, again, I know exactly what song you are referring to without even naming it. I also remember the first time I ever heard that song - I was only 12 years old feeling like I was 16; we lived in Clovis, New Mexico and I was walking down a sidewalk.  My neighbor was working on his car and this came on the radio ( those old AM radios, I'm certain ).  
 
I remember being in the PX with my father looking at records when I saw my first Native American boy-man, and how his eyes pierced right through mine. And though he didn't physically change my life, as I never saw him again, he spiritually changed my life because he triggered something in me that I knew I knew without remembering it completely. I just knew where I was from, at some point on this journey.

Ahavati, thank you for commenting, for the RL and sharing that wonderful memory with me. Some songs really trigger the memory bank and transport you there. I love that your description of this person is still so vivid in your mind, what emotion you must've felt , the colors, the air, etc.
