Transmuting Psychosis

I would settle for 30 seconds
of petrification
verses millions of years!
O how I yearn for
a personal dormition
staving off effects
of my lack of R.E.M., sleep.

I get a little psychotic

A two hour nap per night
21 hours per week
my average
before I get a wee bit crazy

This past night found me
freaking out
for I had a difficult time
telling the difference
between reality,
dream & half-sleep.

In May, I have a 4 hr appointment
at the Veteran’s Hospital Sleep Clinic

I hope they put me
“out to pasture,”
so to speak.
