Hardened By Fire

Our flesh does not weaken with use
any more than our love.

We use each other like the sculptor’s finest clay
and enter our refining furnace with joy.

Flames spill over us like martyrs for our faith,
yet we do not burn, finding new life as we breathe the
hot gasses of a love hardened by fire.
