Studying You While Sleeping
Through the darkness, I reach out my hand
to the rising curve of your hip to feel its warmth
and remember.
The flesh that danced to its own music earlier
is now quiet.
My fingers drift to the small of your back
and remember.
Seconds passed while watching
your perfect hourglass back leading small
beads of sweat down toward the birthplace
of our shared desires.
The hourglass lies still now in the darkness,
but I remember.
