The Silver Moon
I don’t know why
I go back to certain places I don’t remember going
Or why the features of dreams seem so familiar but unknown
Why some songs carry me to a place just beyond my reach
To where memories in the subconscious
Awaken
Maybe it’s Linda’s rendering
Or her vocal style I find myself surrendering to a nostalgia
Of leaving innocence behind
As time goes by
Where everything I once knew is left behind
In some island
Under the bluest clearest skies
And prettiest silver moon
That human eyes can see
Possibly I’m still that young boy at heart
Who won’t part with memoirs written under the stars
As I lay down to sleep
Listening to a voice I once heard in the deep
As if it’s calling me
To dream and visit places hidden
Somewhere in my memory
