Listlessness (NaPoWriMo 2022 #13)
I didn't want to go through with today.
Not because of any true hardship
but because of ennui.
The type of day
where there is some bits to do
but the soul is unwilling
for even breakfast
or to get out of bed,
as the rest brought no change
no renewal
of phoenixical proportions,
just ashen listlessness
leaden dullness
in the bones
that saps from the heart.
At least there is always
tomorrow,
tomorrow,
always tomorrow
and yet?
