SPELL
a recipe the spirit weaves
with elements
from yellowed leaves
of ancient books,
a witch's brew
of sage and thyme
and freshest dew
and ocean sand
and feathers, blue,
and leaf of oak
and willow, too
and hope and wonder
want and pain
then candle lit
to break the chain
of lonely nights
with mem'ry's stain
and prayers
to set the spirit free
and mend the heart
and plant the seed,
good luck and love
so mote it be
