to all the women who struggle to get out of bed in the morning

Our lives are immeasurable  
we live them moment by moment  
both small and large  
and everything in between
 
We once stood as Goddesses  
and feared nothing  
we burned as brightly as super novas  
and thought our reign would last forever  
 
Now we mind our shadows  
learn how to hide in the daylight  
breathe in the darkness  
and call it home  
 
We look back  
and remember were Goddesses  
like it was a dream and not a fact  
etched into the fabric of reality  
 
Our lives are immeasurable

We are more than the sum  
of our usefulness  
more than cogs in the machines  
of our lives  
 
We are bigger than they let us believe  
when our light is stripped bare  
and there to be harvested  
a feast for the demons on the edge of the dark  
 
We once stood as Goddesses  
and feared nothing  
we burned as brightly as super novas 
and thought our reign would last forever  
 
We learned instead that life is hard  
and that nothing lasts forever  
we learned to embrace our fall  
and know that we are worth more  
 
We burned brightly once  
and one day we will again
