this may offend
but fuck off...
dont come expecting
a nice guy
never was
behind brown eyes
lays my darkness
always been there
unlike Putin
i press the self destruct
button all the time

good morning dearest poet as someone who misses the cues but never misses the fact I don't fit in this world I can relate to this...
this is a poem I wrote a couple of days ago and didn't post...
painful inflections feeling rejected I look back
seeing the human cues I missed
I observe but don't fit
I try to connect, then I don't
it's too much work
people take for granted what comes naturally
I knuckle under to keep up
when I fail miserably I bleed
I cover up the hurt
then let you see
the more I desire of you
the less you will want of me
I shine too brightly
with an intensity that drains
I wonder the vampire nursery I was taken from
I'm not like everyone else
a misfit weary, keeping my fangs hidden
bidden I come forth
I'm going to drink
then feel guilty I did

Indeed, after a while it just become a moot point so why bother! I could feel the emotion in this one, AP. It's composed in a way that's not overly dramatic - but straightforward.
Though this isn't a NaPo entry, I do want to remark how strongly you've come out of the gate in the challenge this year, Collin. I anticipate your solid finish this year, just as the previous years. Best of luck to you.

That's wonderful to hear, AP. I keep checking your page to see if you've posted any of you NaPo's so that I can encourage you, but you haven't. You're doing fabulous regardless!
