Pagans in Vegas

Come worship my show
At my neon altar casino
Showgirls after your soul
Satin sheen queens

Nightlight naked dreams
Painted in blood dresses
Praying with garnet necklaces
Watching dominos as they fall

Dying to reach the windfall
Following the roll of the dice
Premonitions of lust and lies
Leading into 110 degree alleyways

Fading and melting into the heat
Echoes left behind only to repeat

There are no vegans
only Pagans in Vegas

Author's Note
I had a friend of mine move in over the summer from Vegas. She told me of a
place called Naked City. In the 1950s showgirls and waitresses would lounge naked at apartment complexes so they wouldn't get tan lines.

Not such a safe place nowadays according to her after dark.

Then I came across an album from Metric titled
Pagans in Vegas and off my mind went.
