Love the One You're With

My dad used to sing the line,
“If you can’t be with the one you love,
love the one you’re with.”
He followed that command,
loving many women in
addition to my mother and me.

Recently I thought of my father and that song when
I was alone at home.
I must say, I enjoyed loving the one I was with.
